In the interim, regular updates to the Handbook continue to be made, the latest being the addition of information about the new Controlled Use (Export Only) Permit category.

Latest news on the Review of NICNAS's Existing Chemicals Assessment ProgramInterested in knowing more about the EC Review?Submissions on the subject of NICNAS's Existing Chemicals Assessment Program were received from over 55 organisations, individuals, departments and groups. Most of the submissions were made following the special Promoting safer chemical use: towards better regulation of chemicals in Australia forums that were held across Australia in May and early June. The final report on the Review - including recommendations - will not be published until later in 2006. Further details will be posted on the NICNAS website at: www.nicnas/gov.au.

In accordance with section 65(2) of the Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989 as amended, a notice that the Director requires the secondary notification of the existing chemical OLOA 270 was published in the October 2006 Chemical Gazette.
