Welcome to the 25th edition of NICNAS News, our regular electronic newsletter highlighting developments at NICNAS and important new documents on the NICNAS website. As you can see, it's now in a completely new format and I hope you will find it a useful source of information about NICNAS's work.

NICNAS on the road

May 2006 saw a large number of NICNAS staff visiting clients and conducting training sessions - in short: providing outreach to clients and other interested individuals and groups.

NICNAS's Naomi Degabriele, Jennifer Turner, Hana Hamdan and Louise Stedman shared their knowledge of Notification and Assessment at New Chemicals training sessions.

NICNAS fees and charges

Small increase only for 2006-07

NICNAS fees and charges are set to rise by just 3.9% from 1 July 2006. The fee for a standard assessment rises from $13,877 to just $14,418

NICNAS at Hazmat 2006

NICNAS Director Dr Margaret Hartley, Deputy-Director of the Office of Chemical Safety (OCS), Dr Wafa El-Adhami and NICNAS's Rapid Risk Assessment Team Leader Deborah Willcocks recently joined a number of speakers at Hazmat 2006 in Melbourne.

NICNAS supports graduate student program

In an expansion of its regular Australian Graduate Recruitment Program, NICNAS has offered support to the Australian National Science Graduate (ANSG) Conference, funding ANSG Student Stipends for 35 science graduates.

NICNAS Annual Service Charter Survey 2005-06

As in previous years, NICNAS is conducting a client survey seeking opinions and views on aspects of our service, especially in relation to fulfilment of the terms of our Service Charter.
